Description: The Gothic castle with four towers is a symbol of the medieval knight-culture in Hungary; its prime being the reign of Louis I. (Louis the Great). The "Knight King" signed the Peace Treaty of Turin here in 1381, in which Venice acknowledged the Hungarian rule of Dalmatia. From the Anjou-reign onwards the castle was part of the Queen's estate until 1526.
