2012 – Year of the peach
Pálinka is a traditional Hungarian drink made from several fruits grown in Hungary. This year is the year of peach, which means the peach Pálinka is in focus.

Last year was the year of plum for Pálinka distillers, but in 2012 peach in in the lime-light. The "Pálinka of Hungary" will be created this year from the best 11 peach Pálinka of the country selected by experts. The Hungary's Peach Pálinka will be first presented at the Budapest Pálinka Festival at Buda Castle. The festival opens on 10th of May, and lasts until 13th of May and it's not only about Pálinka, but Hungarian gastronomy and folklore.
